I only recently discovered this author by reading Straight. Fell in love then with Henry and Ty. Read more of Seth Kings books, both as raw, real and emotional as Straight was and planned on reading more but after reading Straight, Honesty and then The Summer Remains in a three period, I was emotionally charged and in danger of combustion. I took a break to read some comedies. But as soon as I saw this novella was going to have Henry and Ty, I had to grab it. It did not disappoint except that it was just too short. I'm hoping there's more to come for Henry and Ty. I hope if there's more Henry can learn to not worry and trust their love and that these two will win their HEA and the world be damned. This author's works to date are powerful and they've all gotten me so invested emotionally that I've felt like I lived the story myself. That's cool stuff. This was short and sweet and while I actually read something of his handing make my cry, it was still a great job and well worth the read.Product details

I absolutely loved getting a little more of Henry and Ty! I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at the beginning of the story, and that it was from someone else's point of view. I was glad to learn more about that person and what motivated them to be how they are!
Here is the sequel to Seth King's Straight. We reconnect with Caroline on Xmas eve as she is trying to make peace after the end of her relationship, but possibly the beginning of a new one w Thad.
We also reconnect with Henry and Ty , after the too reconnected with each other.
The words that Seth King writes are just so meaningful and beautiful. A highly recommend Straight and then following up with Spirit.
I loved this novella it was a perfect continuation of Straight!! It gave me everything I wanted, I was so curious about Caroline and most importantly more Henry and Ty.
I had Caroline pegged as a spoiled selfish brat who got everything she wanted namely Henry but then I got a glimpse of something else at the end of Straight. Now I know her and she is kind of awesome, sad but she is getting over that.
LOVED getting more of Henry and Ty!!! But I am a greedy reader and still want more!
The first short story in Spirit is told from Caroline's point of view during her break up with Henry (from the Seth King novel Straight). It's really very interesting to see things from her perspective. And she is a funny, quirky person so the reader can't help but get some laughs. It was nice to see what became of Caro and Thad. Seth King shares some really good, inspiring words (spoken by Caro) as she reflects on the loss of her uncle and how she can become a better person.
The second short story is told from Henry's point of view and it's an epilogue to Straight. It's well written and exactly what you would expect it to be. No surprises at all. What was nice, though, was to hear Henry explain to Ty how he had been feeling during the break from each other and also to see Ty's real reaction (as opposed to his imagined reaction that Henry had considered).
Spirit A "Straight" Holiday Novella by Seth King takes up at the end of “Straight”. It takes us to the New Year with Ty and Henry, also Carolina and Thad. Seth King expands on the look inside the LGBTQ community verses the Straight life in Savannah; the inter struggles & real fear with a twist.
Seth King’s continues with his ability as a wordsmith that is still so gentle and telling in this novella story. I am glad Seth King has given us this look at the struggles of losing Love and how to go on. Spirit just added to my strengthen Belief in Love and added to Happy Glow. It is a page turning must read.

I didn't realize how much I missed these characters until I started reading this book. This was the perfect continuation of the story and everything I didn't know I was craving. Caroline and Thad are pretty much too cute for their own good. I honestly didn't know I wanted their story until I had it in my hands and then I couldn't get enough. Sigh, Ty and Henry. They are still seated right in my heart, even more so now. I need more of them, I wish I never had to stop reading their story. This little novella is the perfect combination of heart, emotion and humor. I laughed and cried and hugged my kindle. I love how Seth kept the love is love message strong and promoted the true meaning of the holiday season. My words aren't doing it justice, you'll just have to read and find out for yourself.
This novella is a sparkling, heartwarming little ornament of a holiday story. Everyone needs to one click right now.
I am crying. But that's not surprising. I always cry when I read Seth King's words. They are beautiful, they are poetic, they are real.
When I read Straight my world was changed, I saw things from a different perspective. I found myself questioning my own beliefs and realizing I would never be the same after I finished the book.
Spirit is sweet, it has the same emotions and thoughts of love and acceptance that Straight did, however, it had a sweet feel to it as well.
Spirit is the love that we all want, during a time where we are forced to remember what love is. The holidays are the most important times to surround yourself with people you love, and Spirit is a remainder of that.
I thanked Seth King for bringing us Straight and I thank him for bringing us Spirit. I wasn't ready to let these characters go, and I'm glad I didn't have to.
